~CJ~ 11 a_ 976 <br />N <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />V FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Friday, June 13th, 1986 <br />The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 6:30 o'clock p.m., <br />on Friday, June 13, 1986, in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, the <br />same being the time, date and place specified in the motion of adjournment. <br />Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , <br />John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews. The <br />n Chairman, John E. Dotterer, declared a quorum present and the meeting open <br />for the transaction of business. Chairman Dotterer presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Reverend Dewayne Dickerson, Pastor of the <br />Sanford Church of God. <br />Representatives of the Coalition for Alternatives of the Shearon Harris <br />Nuclear Plant (CASH), appeared before the Board and gave their presentation <br />regarding the evacuation Plan in the event of a disaster at the Shearon Harris <br />Nuclear Plant, with respect to Lee County. Those who spoke were Mr. Wade <br />Jernigan, Mr. Craig Richardson, Mrs. Shirley Kacmarik, Dr. W. L. Woltz <br />and Mr. Wells Eddleman. The Reverend Tom Coye, Pastor of the St. Andrews <br />Presbyterian Church, also spoke but he spoke as a resident of the Lemon Springs <br />community and not a CASH representative. Following the presentation, Mrs. Pam <br />Smith of Pittsboro, distributed a collection of pamphlets to the Board and request- <br />ed that they read them. <br />At 7:00 o'clock p.m. , Chairman Dotterer noted that the advertised time <br />for the public hearing with respect to the budget had been reached, and asked tie <br />Board to call a public hearing. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that <br />the Board proceed to call a public hearing on the 1986-87 Budget. Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. The Chairman opened the floor for discussion and invited all of those <br />
