MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF <br />J NORTH CAROLINA, <br />Monday, June 30, 1986 <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 3:30 o'clock p.m., on Monday, <br />June 30, 1986, in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, the same being <br />the time, date and place specified in the call of the meeting. Those present <br />were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , John R. Dossen- <br />bach, Jr., John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meeting <br />open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Mr. Walter B. Hartman, Jr. , the County <br />Manager. <br />Chairman Dotterer recognized Mr. Andrew Haley, a boy scout, who <br />was attending the meeting. <br />The draft of the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on <br />Friday, June 13, 1986, were considered and reviewed. Commissioner Jerry <br />M. Almond moved that the draft be adopted as the official minutes of said <br />meeting and that they be recorded. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman recognized Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, who <br />reviewed the work of the Finance Committee. Commissioner Almond, <br />on behalf of the Finance Committee, moved that the Board accept the low insurance <br />proposal and join the North Carolina Counties Liability and Property Joint Risk <br />Management Agency and that the resolution for such purpose, a copy of which is <br />attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof, be adopted. <br />Further, that Childress-Roberts Agency be awarded the insurance coverage <br />for those bonds that are required by law and for boiler insurance. Commiss- <br />ioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- <br />mously adopted. <br />
