gcu;, 12 21 16 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA 9 II It 11 - It Monday, July 28th, 1986 The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 2:30 o'clock p.m., on Monday, July 28, 1986, in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, the same being the time, date and place specified in the call of the meeting. Those present were Commissioners Jerry M. Almond, Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer and Bertha L. Matthews. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. Mr. John Hall, County Extension Chairman, appeared before the Board and presented Ms. Donna S. Thompson, an applicant for the position of Assistant Home Agent. The Board conferred with Ms. Thompson and Mr. Hall, following which Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that the Board approve the appointment of Ms. Thompson as Assistant Home Agent, effective October 1, 1986. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Ms. Barbara Darr appeared before the Board and presented the petition requesting a change of the speed limits in Clearwater Forest Subdivision. Comm- issioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, moved that the Board notify the Department of Transportation of the petition and also that the Sheriff be advised of the situation and requested to patrol the area. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Ms. Gail McGinty presented documents concerning the Shearon Harris Neuclear Plant, on behalf of the Coalition For An Alternative to Shearon Harris, and requested the Board to consider and act upon said documents. The draft of the minutes of the special meeting held on June 30, 1986, were considered and reviewed. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the draft be adopted as the official minutes of said meeting and that they be recorded. • Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
