Almond, on behalf of the Finance Committee, <br />and in keeping with the Finance Committee recommendations, moved that the <br />Board authorize CCTC to utilize $101, 063. 00 of their fund balance in current <br />expense. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />On behalf of the Finance Committee and in keeping with its recommendations, <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved that the Board initiate procedures and <br />schedule a public hearing on the quest of the adoption of the local option sales <br />tax. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. reported on the August 7, 1986 <br />meeting of the Public Works Commission. Commissioner Dossenbach, in keeping <br />with the Public Works Commissions recommendations, moved that the Board <br />authorize the extension of water service to Friendship Village Subdivision at a <br />tap cost of $1, 000. 00 per user in accordance with the County extension policies <br />as soon as forty users paid the tap fee deposit. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., in keeping with the Public <br />Works Commission's recommendations, moved that the Board authorize the <br />installation of a secure door to the outside in the jail kitchen and the costs of <br />a small room adjoining the jail for additional storage and kitchen operations. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />It was reported to the Board that the jail kitchen personnel are now <br />preparing the meals for the Senior Citizens and the meals have been well <br />served and received. <br />The Chairman announced that the time had arrived for a public hearing <br />on the allocation of funds for Secondary Road improvements in Lee County. <br />The Board, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted, resolved to <br />hold a public hearing on the allocation of highway funds. Representatives of the <br />Board of Transportation spoke and gave their recommendations. All interested <br />citizens were given the opportunity to speak. After hearing the representatives <br />from the Department of Transportation and other citizens, the Board closed <br />the public hearing and resumed its meeting. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr. , moved the adoption setting forth the priorities and schedule of work with <br />the available funds. A copy of the resolution is attached and by this reference <br />made a part hereof. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, which motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., and unanimously adopted <br />upon a vote, it was resolved to authorize the expenditure of up to $1, 000. 00 to <br />
