: r• 12 P~ 48 <br />The Chairman then requested Commissioner Almond to give a report <br />on the activities of the Finance Commission. In keeping with the Finance <br />Commission's recommendations, Commissioner Almond moved that the Board <br />approve Budget Amendment No. 9/16/86/01 and 9/17/86/02. Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr, seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The offer by Ms. Bonnie J. Cole, 612 Glenwood Drive, Sanford, N. C., <br />of a Panasonic VCR valued at approximately $250. 00, was presented to the <br />Board. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond moved for acceptance of such offer. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />The monthly list of releases and refunds for the month of August, 1986, as <br />prepared by the Tax Supervisor's office, was presented to the Board. In keeping <br />with the Finance Committee's recommendations, Commissioner Jerry M. Almond <br />moved that the Releases and Refunds report be approved and authorized. Comm- <br />issioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr, seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />The appointments of J. Nello Thomas and Gary F. Kelly, as Trustees <br />of the Firemen's Relief Fund for Cape Fear Rural Fire District, was moved by <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews, on behalf of the Human Resources Committee; <br />the appointments of Robert Gaetani and Charles Holder, II, as Trustees for the <br />Firemen's Relief Fund for Carolina Trace Rural Fire District; and G. Mack <br />Gilliam and Nathan E. Paschal, as Trustees for the Firemen's Rural Fund for <br />Northwest Pocket Rural Fire District, was moved by Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews, on behalf of the Human Resources Commission. Commissioner <br />Jerry M. Almond seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Mr. Donn R. Gunderson presented a resolution which calls upon the <br />State Government to fund services which it mandates will be carried on by <br />Local Governments and requested the Board to adopt such resolution, a copy <br />of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, which <br />such motion was seconded by Commissioner Jerry M. Almond and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach advised the Board that the Emergency Medical <br />Services personnel would put on an exhibition in which they operated the ''Jaws <br />of Death"and performed blood pressure readings at the Kendale Shopping Center. <br />
