PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Lee County includes a growing number of older Americans who enrich and <br />;strengthen our community through their diverse life experiences; and, <br />WHEREAS, Lee County Government is committed to supporting our community <br />advocating for and engaging with our older adults, their families, and caregivers through <br />a variety of public programs and services; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners, Senior Services Advisory Board, and <br />Enrichment Center staff will host the annual Spring Fling Celebration Brunch on <br />Wednesday, May 8th to honor county residents that have reached the milestone age of <br />90 or better; and, <br />WHEREAS, the county organizes the Senior Games and Silver Arts of Lee County for adults <br />SO and older that will take place May 13th — 28th acknowledging the importance of taking <br />part in activities that promote physical, mental and emotional well-being— no matter your <br />age; and, <br />WHEREAS, Lee County Government Enrichment Center promotes home and community- <br />based services that support independent living; involves older adults in community <br />planning and events; and provides opportunities for older adults to work, volunteer, <br />learn, lead and mentor. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />proclaim the month of May 2019 as Older Amedcons Month in Lee County, North <br />Carolina and call upon residents of all ages to observe this month by recognizing older <br />adults and the people who serve them as vital parts of the Lee County community. <br />Dated this the 61h day of May, 2019. <br />A. <br />e ?
