5 ~a <br />Chairman submitted the amended resolution for a vote. Upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the proclamation designating the week <br />of November 21 through 27, 1986, as Farm-City Week in Lee County, a <br />copy of which proclamation is attached to these minutes and by this reference <br />made a part hereof, be approved and adopted and the Chairman authorized to <br />execute such proclamation. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Jerry M. Almond was recognized and made a motion that <br />the Board authorize the payment of the sum of $10, 000. 00 to the Kendale- <br />Jonesboro Merchants Association, for improvement of the Jonesboro shopping <br />district, subject to the Merchants Association raising the sum of $10, 000. 00, <br />and the City of Sanford also contributing the sum of $10, 000. 00, for such project, <br />all to be accomplished within the next sixty days. There was a discussion <br />concerning the proposal, however, no second was made and the Chair ruled <br />that the motion died for lack of a second. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it <br />was adjourned, sine die. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />
