sco' 12 B3 <br />$56,000. Commiel inner Jerry M. Almond s 8nded the motion <br />and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach, in accordance with the <br />recommendations of the Public Works Committee, moved that the <br />engineering contract for the extension of waterlines to the <br />River Run Subdivision and along Hinter School Road to tie <br />into the Greenwood Water System be awarded to Floyd Browne & <br />Associates in the amount of $7,332 and that an additional <br />amount, not to exceed $1,000, be approved for construction <br />supervision and that the Chairman be empowered to sign all <br />necessary documents. Commissioner Jerry M. Almond seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach also advised the Board that the <br />Public Works Committee is looking into the possibility of <br />purchasing a new telephone system for the County Office <br />Building and that a meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, <br />November 5th at 4:00 to look at the equipment and invited <br />other Board members to attend. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach advised the Board that the <br />abbreviated plat of the Turlington/Bethune Subdivision had <br />been discussed by the Public Works Committee who felt that <br />this item should be discussed by the full Board of <br />Commissioners before any action was taken. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach recognized Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, who <br />discussed this plat at length with the Board. After much <br />discussion, Commissioner Dossenbach moved that this plat be <br />approved but that the Planning Board initiate steps to <br />eliminate this type of situation in the future. After more <br />discussion, Commissioner Dossenbach withdrew his motion and <br />recommended that this item be referred back to the Planning <br />Board with no action being taken by the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />The Chairman recognized Commissioner Jerry M. Almond, <br />Chairman of the Finance Committee, to report on activities of <br />the committee. <br />Commissioner Almond, in accordance with the <br />recommendations of the Finance Committee, moved that the list <br />of tax releases as submitted by the Tax Supervisor's Office <br />be approved. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman recognized Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, <br />Jr., Chairman of the General Government Committee, for a <br />report on the activities of the committee. <br />Commissioner Cox, in keeping with the recommendations of <br />the General Government Committee, moved that the Board <br />authorize the clearing of the structure and gas tanks from <br />the Carter Property located adjacent to the Jail. <br />Commissioner Bertha L.
