Bid from Texperts, Inc. in the amount of $34,894 for enterprise virtualization software <br />upgrades (copy attached), and <br />Annual software maintenance agreement with Tyler Technologies for the Tax Appraisal <br />system in the amount of $34,590 (copy attached) <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Pursuant to N.C. General Statute 153A -52.1, Chairman Shook opened the floor for Public <br />Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 minutes for comments: <br />Mr. Keith Clark, 212 Acorn Drive, Sanford <br />Mr. Greg Huff, 363 Dublin Drive, Sanford <br />The Board considered bids for the OT Sloan diving pool renovation project that had been tabled <br />from the October 17, 2011 Commissioners' meeting. County Manager John Crumpton stated the <br />project is to replace a system that has been in place since 1975 and involves removal of the existing <br />filtration pump and installation of a new 15 HP filtration pump, including a new concrete base, <br />associated piping and electrical connections. The project also involves demolition of the existing <br />skimmers and installation of new skimmers, equalizer grates, returns, re- pouring of concrete decking <br />and new waterline tile and depth markers. Proposals were accepted on October 4, 2011 from the <br />following contractors: <br />Aquatic Resource Group, Charlotte, NC $67,333 <br />Gress' Inc., New Hill, NC $69,646 <br />Southeastern Aquatics, Raleigh, NC $87,950 <br />Southern Pools, Charlotte, NC $67,775 <br />Paddock Pool Equipment, Rock Hill, SC No Bid <br />Mr. Crumpton stated the Board could do nothing and allow the pool to open without the improvements. <br />He further stated this expense is an investment to keep the asset operating long term. If nothing is <br />done, the County could take a chance that only minor repairs would be needed to reopen the pool in <br />the spring. However, based on the cost to make repairs for the last two years ($45,000) and the <br />amount of use at the pool, staff recommends proceeding with the award of the OT Sloan Diving Pool <br />Renovations Project to Aquatic Resource Group, Charlotte, North Carolina, in the total amount of <br />$67,333. After much discussion, Commissioner Hayes moved to accept the bid from Aquatic Resource <br />Group in the amount of $67,333 and proceed with repairs as stated above. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Hayes, Oldham, Parks, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: Shook and Womack <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a 5 to 2 vote. <br />Commissioner Oldham moved to approve budget amendment # 11/14/11/05 in the amount of $67,333 <br />for repairs to the diving pool at OT Sloan Park, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof.
