LEE COUNTY <br />q O 0 4Cl (Bn ff 060 q . <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />NOVEMBER 14, 2011 <br />The regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 3 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 <br />Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Richard B. Hayes, <br />Larry "Doc' Oldham, Charles T. Parks, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, Linda A. Shook, and <br />James K. Womack, Jr. <br />Chairman Shook called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Oldham delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />The Board considered additions /changes to the Agenda. Commissioner Reives stated he would <br />like to add an item to Old Business concerning an economic development vote that was taken in June. <br />Commissioner Oldham asked that an item on the Consent Agenda for a bad debt write -off for the <br />Health Department be pulled for discussion. With no other changes made, Commissioner Parks moved <br />to approve the Agenda as amended. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Oldham, Parks, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Womack <br />Nay: Hayes <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a 6 to 1 vote. <br />Commissioner Hayes stated he voted in opposition to the Consent Agenda Budget Amendment <br />item because he feels the Evergreen audit is not a good use of tax payers' money. <br />Commissioner Womack moved to approve the Consent Agenda which consisted of the following <br />items: <br />• Minutes from the October 17, 2011 regular meeting, <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for October 2011 (copies attached), <br />• Budget Amendment # 11/14/11/04 (copy attached), <br />• Applications for school lottery funds totaling $610,000.00 (copies attached), <br />• FY 2011 -12 Senior Center Grant Purpose Funding application (copy attached), <br />
