IoM 12 0 <br />127 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, January 5, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room, on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Monday, January 5, 1987, at 9:30 o'clock a.m. Those present <br />were Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr. ; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John <br />E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by K. R. Hoyle, Clerk to the Board. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the draft of the <br />minutes of the regular meeting held on December 15, 1986, and the adjourned <br />regular meeting on December 22, 1986, be adopted as the official minutes of the <br />meeting and recorded. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion. <br />During the discussion of this motion, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reiterated <br />his opposition to a motion recorded in the minutes of the December 15, 1986, <br />meeting concerning the water system indebtedness. This matter was discussed <br />but no action was taken. The Chair called for a vote on the motion to adopt the <br />minutes. Commissioners Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews and Dotterer voted for <br />adoption. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker voted against adoption. Chairman <br />Dotterer ruled that the motion carried by a majority vote. <br />The Chairman recognized Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., as <br />Chairman of the Public Works Committee for a report on its recommendations. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach reported that the bids received for parking <br />deck modifications were as follows: <br />DWC Contractors $137, 056 <br />L. P. Cox Company $157,000 <br />David Simpson Construction Co. $146,989 <br />
