Matthews moved <br />that the low bid of R. W. Moore Company be accepted. Commissioner Raymond C. <br />Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote, the Motion was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO WORK PERIOD <br />FOR LEE COUNTY EMPLOYEES <br />WHEREAS, Lee County is a unit of general purpose local <br />government, created by the legislature of the State of North Carolina, <br />and as such, functions as a division of state government; and <br />WHEREAS, both state and local governmental units are <br />subject to the requirements of regulations and standards of the United <br />States Government; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1985, the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act <br />extended its coverage to include state and local government employees; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners to operate in compliance with the rules and regulations <br />of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act of 1985, and subsequent amend- <br />ments as they may be issued; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the LEE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS that the following work schedules shall <br />apply to Lee County Employees effective April 1, 1987: <br />SECTION 1. A.11 employees of the Lee County Emergency <br />Medical Services shall observe as their official 7-day work cycle <br />to begin at 6:00 a. m, on Monday and conclude at 6:00 a. m, the <br />following Monday. <br />E.
