V fA9 177 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, April 21, 1987 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County J of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, April 21, 1987, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Those present were Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr. ; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on April 6, 1987, which was submitted to the Board with the Agenda for this meeting, be adopted as the official minutes for such meeting. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote the motion was unanimously adopted. In reviewing the minutes, the Board took note of its recognition of the illness of Mr. Ed Upchurch. It was noted that Mr. Upchurch had died and the Board mourned his passing and directed that such be recorded.in the minutes of this meeting. Mr. Leonard Barefoot appeared before the Board and presented a petition from residents on Minter Avenue and Alpine Drive requesting that the Division of Highways take over these roads for maintenance. The Planning Board had reviewed the Petition and recommended approval. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that the standard resolution recommending addition to the state system be adopted as to these roads. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. Seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the Board and presented the preliminary plat of Suburban Acres for review. Mr. Barefoot reviewed the requirements which had been incorporated in the Planning Board's approval. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the preliminary plat of the subdivision be approved on the same basis as the Planning Board had approved it. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote, the motion was unanimously adopted.
