After extensive discussion, Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , moved that the Board adopt the following ordinance: <br />BE IT ORDAINED that the County of Lee Board of Commissioners <br />accept the Grant offer of State funds, Work Order #9. 9354109, in <br />the amount of $33, 500. 00 from the Department of Transportation, <br />Division of Aviation, to be used on the earth work portion of Runway <br />Extension for a total project cost of $67, 000. 00. This Runway Extension <br />was previously approved and preapplication was filed on June 20, 1985, <br />Recommendation for source of local funds is as follows: <br />Airport Capital Reserve Account $10, 000, <br />City of Sanford 11, 750. <br />County of Lee 11, 750, <br />MATCHING FUNDS for the $67, 000 Project $33, 500. <br />This recommendation was approved by the Sanford-Lee County <br />Airport Commission at a special meeting on Friday, March 20, 1987, <br />upon motion made by Charles Lee Mann, seconded by Harold Pearson, <br />and approved unanimously by the Airport Commission. <br />Based on information recently received from the North Carolina <br />Division of Aviation, this Grant must be accepted no later than the 14th <br />day of May, 1987, or the offer will expire in order that the funds may be <br />offered to other airports. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, <br />the motion was unanimously adopted, <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the Board and <br />presented a request from the Carolina Trace Corporation to be granted an extension <br />of one year to complete the improvements in the following subdivisions: We <br />Lakewood, Highland Woods, Woodmere I, Woodmere II, Trentwood, Sedgemoor I, <br />and Sedgemoor II. Mr. Barefoot reported that the improvements to be done <br />consisted in paving short sections of streets and extending one sewer line. Mr. <br />Barefoot recommended a letter of credit in the amount of $72, 050. 00 be posted, <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the request for extension be granted <br />upon condition Carolina Trace Corporation post a letter of credit in the amount of <br />$72, 050. 00. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the motion was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Beatrice Fields, Finance Officer, appeared before the Board and <br />
