°;DY _12 ?A;E <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY <br />OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 4, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />Monday, May 4, 1987, immediately following its session as the Board of Equalization <br />and Review, which had convened at 9:30 O'clock A. M. Those present were <br />Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr. ; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; <br />Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum <br />present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was trans- <br />acted: <br />Mr. Billy Ray Cameron, Director of Emergency Management, appeared <br />before the Board and reported that Congressman Cass Ballinger of the Tenth District <br />had requested that the emergency hospital given to the County be donated for use in <br />Central America. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board retain the <br />hospital for use in Lee County and decline the Congressman's request. Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote the motion was un- <br />animously adopted. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , moved that the draft of the minutes <br />of the regular meeting held on Monday, April 21, 1987, which was submitted to the <br />Board with the agenda for this meeting be adopted as the official minutes for such <br />meeting. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote, the motion was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Wilma Winstead appeared before the Board on behalf of the Extension <br />Homemakers and presented a proclamation regarding the Homemakers program. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the proclamation be approved and the <br />Chairman be authorized to issue and execute the proclamation for and on behalf of the <br />Board. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. W. M. Womble, Sr. , and Mr. John Ogburn appeared before the <br />Board to present a recommendation from the Sanford-Lee County Airport Commission <br />
