FJ <br />s uS 12 ,~A, , 197 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, MAY 18, 1987 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Monday, May 18, 1987, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Those present were <br />Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr. ; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E, <br />Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared <br />a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , moved that the draft of the <br />minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, May 4, 1987, which was submitted <br />to the Board with the agenda for this meeting be adopted as the official minutes <br />for such meeting. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote, the motion was unanimously adopted, <br />Mr. Meigs Golden, Trustee; Dr. Marvin Joyner, President; and <br />Mr. Elbert Price, Dean; appeared before the Board on behalf of the Central <br />Carolina Technical College (CCTC) and presented the budget request for the <br />fiscal year 1987-1988. <br />Mr. Robert Dalrymple, Chairman of the Lee County Board of <br />Education appeared before the Board and presented Superintendent William R. <br />Johnson. Superintendent Johnson presented the budget request for the Lee <br />County Schools for the coming fiscal year. Superintendent Johnson urged the <br />Board to support the enactment of a I~ school tax for the school building program. <br />Mr. John W. Kinney, Jr. , and Ms. Belinda Stewart of the firm of <br />O'Brien/Atkins, Architects, appeared before the Board and presented plans <br />and specifications for proposed renovations to the Lee County Human Resources <br />
