eons 1. 1t;r 205 <br />M <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to utilize $24, 260 in spot stabilization of unpaved <br />roads and safety improvements as follows: <br />1. SR 1237 at US 1 - Install stop sign beacon on SR 1237. This intersection <br />has been the site of several accidents, some fatal, resulting <br />from stop sign violations. Estimated Cost - $2500. 00. <br />3. It is proposed to accomplish spot stabilization on unpaved roads <br />to obtain "all weather" conditions on all roads, to include SR 1429, <br />SR 1428, SR 1424, SR 1500, SR 1539, SR 1540, SR 1536, SR 1450, <br />SR 1304, SR 1257, SR 1369, SR 1164, SR 1161, SR 1528, SR 1250, <br />SR 1197, SR 1131, SR 1545. Estimated Cost - $21, 760. <br />WHEREAS, It is proposed to utilize $80, &65 to pave down the priority list <br />as far as possible under funding and right of way constraints. Initial <br />paving projects anticipated: <br />1. Priority No. 2 - SR 1186 from SR 1162 to SR 1140 - 2. 3 miles. <br />Survey, secure right of way, grade, drain, base, pave, and <br />provide erosion control. Additional Funding - $78, 215, 00. <br />2. Then proceed with funding of paving down the priority list as funds <br />and right of way become available. <br />BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Division of Highways of the Department of <br />Transportation proceed with these projects as far as the Secondary <br />Road Allocations for Fiscal Year 1987 -88 will allow. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote, <br />the Commissioners voted as follows : <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the Resolution was unanimously adopted, <br />Mr. Bill Rosser then reviewed the urban projects under construction in <br />Lee County and Mr. Sproles spoke on the owner participation projects. <br />The Reverend Tom Coye appeared before the Board and presented a report <br />on hunger in Lee County on behalf of the local Bread for the Wccrid Chapter. <br />Reverend Coye advised the Board that the group had met monthly for a five year <br />period. <br />
