Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />Commissioners voted as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker, and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. G. R. Sproles, Jr. , District Engineer, and Messrs. Bill Rosser, <br />Jerry Maddox and Fred Watson appeared before the Board on behalf of the N. C. <br />Department of Transportation to present its proposed 1987-88 Secondary Road <br />Construction Program. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted <br />the Board resolved to hold a public hearing on the proposed program. Chairman <br />Dotterer recognized District Engineer Sproles who presented the DCT recommen- <br />dations. The Chairman then invited any members of the public who desired to <br />speak on the subject to come forward and they would be recognized. After all such <br />persons had been given an opportunity to speak the public hearing was closed upon <br />motion made, seconded, and unanimously adopted. The representatives of the <br />DOT presented a resolution which incorporated their recommendation for the <br />Board's consideration and the Clerk read it in its entirety. The Board then <br />discussed the proposed program following which Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, <br />Jr. moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />County of Lee <br />North Carolina <br />The Lee County Board of Commissioners met on June 15, 1987 in regular <br />meeting and adopted the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation anticipated a. <br />July 1987 allocation of $161, 735 in Secondary Construction Funds for Lee <br />County for the forth coming construction seascn and a public hearing was <br />held on June 15, 1987 in the Lee County Office Building concerning the <br />expenditures of said funds: <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to retain $24, 260 of the total allocation for small <br />projects that may come up during the year such as road additions, property <br />owner participation projects, volunteer fire department and rescue squad <br />drives, project overruns, drainage, etc. <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to utilize $32, 350 for Paved Secondary Road <br />Improvement Projects as follows: <br />1. Widen SR 1182, two feet each side, from SR 1184 to US 15-501, a distance <br />of 2. 20 miles. Estimated cost - $32, 350. 00. <br />
