The County Manager presented and recommended the adoption of a resolution authorizing use of facsimile signatures in the signing of checks. After discussion, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adoption of the following: RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO CHECK SIGNING PROCEDURE WHEREAS, Southern National Bank, Sanford, North Carolina, has been designated as the central depository for all funds of Lee County, North Carolina; and WHEREAS, all checks and drafts drawn against said funds shall be signed by one of the following county officials: Finance Officer Assistant Finance Officer and countersigned by the following officer: Chairman, Board of Commissioners WHEREAS, Lee County desires to make use of an electronic check signing machine that will utilize facsimile signatures of the above referenced County officers: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that Southern National Bank, Sanford, North Carolina, as the central depository for all Lee County funds is hereby requested to honor checks and drafts against funds deposited in the name of Lee County that bear the facsimile signatures of the above referenced County officers. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as follows: AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker, and Dotterer NAY: None The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted by a unanimous vote. The County Manager presented Budget Amendments No. 14 and 15 to the Capital Outlay Fund of the Lee County Board of Education which had been passed by that board on June 8, 1987. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved that the Board of Commissioners approve the changes set forth in the budget amendments. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as follows: AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer NAY: None
