abor 1? 214 <br />I - <br />DA) <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote. <br />The County Manager presented and recommended the adoption of a <br />resolution authorizing use of facsimile signatures in the signing of checks. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adoption of the <br />following: <br />RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO CHECK SIGNING PROCEDURE <br />WHEREAS, Southern National Bank, Sanford, North Carolina, has been <br />designated as the central depository for all funds of Lee County, North Carolina; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, all checks and drafts drawn against said funds shall be signed <br />by one of the following county officials: <br />Finance Officer <br />Assistant Finance Officer <br />and countersigned by the following officer: <br />Chairman, Board of Commissioners <br />WHEREAS, Lee County desires to make use of an electronic check signing <br />machine that will utilize facsimile signatures of the above referenced County <br />officers: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners that Southern National Bank, Sanford, North Carolina, as the <br />central depository for all Lee County funds is hereby requested to honor checks and <br />drafts against funds deposited in the name of Lee County that bear the facsimile <br />signatures of the above referenced County officers. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker, and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted by a unanimous vote. <br />The County Manager presented Budget Amendments No. 14 and 15 to the <br />Capital Outlay Fund of the Lee County Board of Education which had been passed <br />by that board on June 8, 1987. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , moved <br />that the Board of Commissioners approve the changes set forth in the budget <br />amendments. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />
