0 3~es 12 , s~ 250 <br />WHEREAS, she actively.participated in the life of <br />her community by her service to the County and her service as <br />a faithful member of the Juniper Springs Baptist Church; and <br />WHEREAS, Wanda K. Thomas, during her career as a <br />public servant set a high standard of conduct, evidencing in her <br />life loyalty, selflessness, de-rotion to duty and character of the <br />highest degree, and conducted herself in a manner to reflect great <br />credit upon the county; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County, to honor the memory of Wanda K. Thomas and <br />express its sympathy to her family in her death; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD <br />OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COTJNTY: <br />Section 1. The Board of Commissioners recognizes and <br />expresses its appreciation for the public service rendered by Wanda <br />K. Thomas with full knowledge that in her passing, the County of <br />Lee has lost an able and devoted public servant. <br />Section 2. That this Resolution shall become a part of the <br />public records -of this Board and that.the Clerk shall cause a <br />certified copy of this Resolution to be transmitted to her family. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: - <br />AYE:.Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker an.d'Do.tterer <br />NAY-: None <br />The Chairman declared the resolution unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , advised the Board that <br />the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners had adopted a resolution <br />in memory of Wanda K. Thomas on July 16, 1987, and moved that'.the Association's <br />resolution be spread on the minutes of this meeting.. Commissioner Raymond C. <br />Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />
