LJ <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J ~ m m , r r ~ ~ r Xc ~ ~ m m ~ XM m ~ i , X< m ~ , m r r m r X: + m X~ <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1987 <br />r r m r m m r m m m m r m m m m X< m m r m m m <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Tuesday, <br />September 8, 1987, at 9:30 o'clock A. M. , the first Monday in September <br />being Labor Day, a legal holiday. Those present were Commissioners Raymond <br />C. Cox, Jr. ; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. All of the Commissioners were present and the Chairman <br />ruled a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer gave the invocation. <br />The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, <br />August 10, 1987, were reviewed and considered. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the draft be approved and adopted as the official <br />minutes and be recorded. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer. <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Pat Sprouse appeared before the Board on behalf of the <br />San-Lee Humane Society and presented a written statement and supporting <br />documents and read the substance of the statement to the Board. Mrs. Sprouse <br />complained that the County had reduced its payments to the Society after the <br />Animal Control Officer was moved from their facility. The Board expressed <br />appreciation for the Society appearance and said they would study the material <br />presented. <br />
