Fans 12 311 <br />The Chairman declared that the substitute motion had been <br />unanimously adopted and that would be the policy followed by the Board. <br />The County Manager presented material pertaining to the <br />readoption of the local sales taxes, and Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />moved that the County Manager schedule a public hearing on this matter for the <br />meeting to be held on October 19th. <br />The tax releases for the month of August as prepared by the <br />Tax Supervisor's office copy of which are attached to these minutes and by <br />this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />moved that the releases be approved and authorized . Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Doetterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board next issued an order to the Tax Collector to collect <br />the taxes which order is as follows: <br />TO THE TAX COLLECTOR OF THE COUNTY OF LEE: <br />You are hereby authorized, empowered, and commanded <br />to collect the taxes set forth in the tax records filed in <br />the office of the Tax Supervisor and in the tax receipts <br />herewith delivered to you, in the amounts and from the <br />taxpayers likewise therein set forth. Such taxes are hereby <br />declared to be a first lien upon all real property of the <br />respective taxpayers in the County of Lee, and this order <br />shall be a full and sufficient authority to direct, require, <br />and enable you to levy on and sell any real or personal <br />property of such taxpayers, for and on account thereof, in <br />accordance with law. <br />The County Manager reported on construction matters and <br />taxes. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Department <br />of Transportation be requested to make a study with the view to reducing the <br />speed limit on Winstead Road. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer. <br />NAY: None. <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted. <br />
