BooK 12 PB6f 334 <br />approve the issuance of the following Proclamation: <br />WHEREAS, the growth and well-being of this county are <br />dependent upon cooperation and exchange between the two essential <br />environments of our society: farmers and city people, and <br />WHEREAS, the complexities of their individual problems and <br />the divergence of their activities have led to a widening gap of mis- <br />understanding, and <br />WHEREAS, this gap of misunderstanding must be eliminated, and <br />each group must understand the other if our American way of life is <br />to endure, and <br />WHEREAS, Farm-City Week provides an unparalleled experience <br />for farm and city people to become reacquainted. <br />I, THEREFORE, John E. Dotterer, Chairman of the Lee County <br />Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim the period of November <br />20 through November 26 to be Farm-City Week; and I do further call <br />upon all citizens of this county to participate to the limit of their <br />capabilities in the joint visits, the seminars, the pageants, fairs, civic <br />and social events associated with a successful Farm-City Week in <br />Lee County. <br />Done at the County of Lee, this 2nd day of November, 1987. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews and Dottererwd'tOlGKC1i <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution,had been unanimously adopted and the <br />Proclamation duly issued. <br />Mr. John Kinney of the firm of O'Brien/Atkins Associates, Architects, <br />appeared before the Board and discussed problems with respect to the former <br />hospital building renovation. Mr. Kinney explained the steps that had been taken <br />to correct the dust and dirt problems in the work areas still occupied in the building. <br />
