® Sow 12 rosy 344 <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adoption of the <br />following Resolution pertaining to paving at the West Sanford Rural Fire Station: <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners recognizes <br />the importance of the services rendered by the West Sanford Rural Fire <br />Department and all the other Fire Departments in Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />to cooperate and assist the Rural Fire Departments in every way possible; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners have received <br />a request for assistance from the West Sanford Rural Fire Department <br />in getting the area next to the new West Sanford Rural Fire Station paved; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners that it would be in the public interest that this paving be <br />done: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board <br />of Commissioners that the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />be requested to give assistance to the West Sanford Rural Fire Department <br />by paving the requested area adjacent to the West Sanford Rural Fire Station, <br />and that the cost of said paving be taken from the Lee County Secondary <br />Road Fund. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled that the Resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager presented his proposed schedule for holidays for <br />the calendar year 1988. After discussion, Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. <br />moved that the County offices observe as holidays the following dates: <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King, Jr. Is birthday <br />Good Friday <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving <br />Christmas <br />January 1, 1988 <br />Friday <br />January 18, 1988 <br />Monday <br />April 1, 1988 <br />Friday <br />May 30, 1988 <br />Monday <br />July 4, 1988 <br />Monday <br />September 5, 1988 <br />Monday <br />November 11, 1988 <br />Friday <br />November 24 & 25, 1988 <br />Thursday & <br />Friday <br />December 23 & 26, 1988 <br />Friday & <br />Monday <br />
