6on;~ i? s 37C <br />Mr. Ronnie Martin, Director of the Lee County Youth Services <br />appeared before the Board and requested authorization to file a pre-application <br />for a grant in the amount of $8, 000 for the group home from the North Carolina <br />Fund for Children and Families Commission. After discussion, Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board approve the pre-application and authorize <br />its submission to the Commission. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer. <br />NAY: None <br />The Commissioner ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager reported to the Board that as a result of the <br />Christmas holidays and the problems in connection with the recent snow in the <br />area that the County would have to be paying overtime to some employees. <br />Mr. Mills advised the Board that Mr. John Kenny, Architect, would be <br />at the next meeting in February. <br />The Chairman brought up for consideration the difficulty some people <br />were having in getting their land use applications in to the taxing authorities and <br />that the only way the period could be extended for this purpose would be to extend <br />the listing period for taxes through February 15th. After discussion by the Board, <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the tax listing period be <br />extended until February 15, 1988. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer. <br />NAY: None. <br />The Chairman ruled that the resolution had been unanimously adopted and the <br />tax listing period extended accordingly. <br />It was reported to the Board that the Soil and Water Conservation Board <br />had invited the Commissioners to meet with them on February 29th, 1988, at the <br />Barbecue Lodge in Sanford. <br />On motion of Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr., duly seconded <br />by Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews and unanimously adopted upon a vote, the <br />Board elected to go into executive session to discuss personnel problems. Following <br />the executive session at which no action was taken, Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker moved that the session be ended, seconded by Raymond C. Cox Jr., and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />
