~y <br />.w <br />noK 12 38' <br />levels of State government; <br />M <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is aware <br />of the proposal by ProComm, Inc. , of Southern Pines, North <br />Carolina, to establish a halfway house for adolescent substance <br />abusers in Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is aware <br />that Pro Comm is in the process of examining several locations <br />within Lee County for the purpose of establishing the proposed <br />halfway house for adolescent substance abusers; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners that the location selected by ProComm for the <br />proposed halfway house should have adequate acreage thereby <br />insuring that the program could be implemented properly and <br />should be in a location that the neighboring property owners would <br />support; and <br />WHEREAS,.. it has been called to the attention of the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners that one of the locations under <br />consideration by ProComm for the proposed halfway house is at <br />404 Main Street in Jonesboro; and <br />WHEREAS, adjacent property owners of this location have <br />expressed strong opposition to the establishment of the halfway <br />house at this site; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the Lee County Board <br />of Commissioners that the examination of this site has not been <br />completed by ProComm and that a final decision has not been made <br />on the location of the proposed halfway house: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESCLVED by the LEE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS that a request be made to ProComm <br />to withdraw from consideration the 404 Main Street Jonesboro <br />location and that the location selected for the proposed halfway <br />house not be made final until all adjacent property owners give their <br />full support to the project. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />
