~y .w noK 12 38' levels of State government; M WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is aware of the proposal by ProComm, Inc. , of Southern Pines, North Carolina, to establish a halfway house for adolescent substance abusers in Lee County; and WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is aware that Pro Comm is in the process of examining several locations within Lee County for the purpose of establishing the proposed halfway house for adolescent substance abusers; and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Lee County Board of Commissioners that the location selected by ProComm for the proposed halfway house should have adequate acreage thereby insuring that the program could be implemented properly and should be in a location that the neighboring property owners would support; and WHEREAS,.. it has been called to the attention of the Lee County Board of Commissioners that one of the locations under consideration by ProComm for the proposed halfway house is at 404 Main Street in Jonesboro; and WHEREAS, adjacent property owners of this location have expressed strong opposition to the establishment of the halfway house at this site; and WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the Lee County Board of Commissioners that the examination of this site has not been completed by ProComm and that a final decision has not been made on the location of the proposed halfway house: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESCLVED by the LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS that a request be made to ProComm to withdraw from consideration the 404 Main Street Jonesboro location and that the location selected for the proposed halfway house not be made final until all adjacent property owners give their full support to the project. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer NAY: None
