specifications for the electrical revision of the first floor and the electrical <br />service to the new building. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , moved that <br />the architect be authorized to advertise for bids for the electrical service as <br />set out in the plans provided that the County staff review the plans during the <br />period of advertisement. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner <br />Wicker asked that the minutes reflect that he had voted in the affirmative as he <br />did not want to delay the job. <br />Mrs. Mary Hawley Oates , Chairman of the Youth Commission, <br />appeared before the Board and in her remarks expressed the need for the group <br />home to accomplish the goals of their organization. She requested that any <br />consideration of renovation at the Park Avenue site be delayed until the idea of <br />renovating the 'gold nurses' home could be explored for use as an office and group <br />home. Ronnie Martin advised the Board he had made application for a grant which <br />he hoped would make it possible for the Youth Commission to have the group home <br />in Lee County. Mr. John Clark representing Community Based Alternatives said <br />his organization would assist in any way possible since he thought the Lee County <br />Youth Commission was performing a useful service and doing a good job. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the County Manager be authorized <br />and directed to investigate the applicability of the State Building Code to the reno- <br />vation of the nurses' home, and if necessary to interview architects concerning <br />said project and report back to the Board at the earliest opportunity. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted by unanimous vote. <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared before the Board and <br />presented road petitions for Deerfield Drive and Farmstead Drive in the Farmstead <br />Subdivision off Lemon Springs Road in Greenwood Township. The Planning Board <br />recommended that the petitionbe approved. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />moved that the petition for the streets in Farmstead Subdivision be approved and be <br />forwarded to the Aberdeen Office of the Highway Division, Commissioner Raymond <br />C. Cox, Jr, , seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />
