Dossenbach, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the Budget Amendment had been unanimously adopted, <br />County Manager Mills advised the Board that the architects would be <br />taking bids on additional work at the old hospital and all Commissioners were invited <br />to be present if they so desired. Also gave them a letter concerning meetings of the <br />Board of Equalization and Review. <br />County Manager Mills delivered credit cards to the members of the <br />Board and called their attention to be present at the Special Olympics to be held on <br />April 8, 1988 in Lee County. <br />Tom Poe and Mack Gilliam were recognized and spoke on behalf of the <br />Soil Conservation Office and recommended that the County purchase a drill which <br />will enable farmers to plant crops without breaking th sod, and in that fashion <br />comply with the requirements of the Federal Government in order to receive benefits <br />under the crop program. The matter was discussed. Following the discussion, <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that the County purchase a suitable drill <br />which would be administered and rented out by the Soil Conservation office for the <br />use of farmers in Lee County at the rate of $5. 00 per acre in the manner and fashion <br />similar to that being conducted in Moore County. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews and Dotterer <br />NAY: Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion was adopted by a majority vote. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, moved that the meeting be <br />adjourned until Monday, March 28, 1988, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Commissioner Raymond <br />C.
