L' W71 <br />E <br />P., , 12 41.2 1 14- J~,. <br />BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Division of Highways of the Department <br />of Transportation proceed with these projects as far as the Secondary <br />Road Allocations for Fiscal Year 1988 -89 will allow. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr, seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The representatives of the Department of Transportation advised the <br />Board of a meeting to be held at Richmond Technical Institute on April 21, 1988, <br />about major projects. <br />Mr. Travis Phillips, Building Inspector, appeared before the Board and <br />presented for their consideration a Proclamation on Building Safety Week. The <br />proclamation is as follows: <br />WHEREAS, the safety of our citizens is always of primary concern <br />to the Lee County Board of Commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, the wide variety of health and safety services provided <br />by the Building Code Departments of Lee County and the nation <br />dramatically assists in providing safe work places, recreational areas, <br />and homes to our citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, we recognize their combined efforts to make buildingssafe; and <br />WHEREAS, the week of April 10, 1988 through April 16, 1988 has been <br />declared National Building Safety Week by the nation and the State of <br />North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, we support building safety in all buildings; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the week of April 10, <br />1988 through April 16, 1988 is hereby designated Building Safety Week. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Proclamation <br />declaring the week of April 20, 1988 through April 16, 1988, as Building Safety <br />Week be approved and the Chairman be authorized to issue same for and on behalf <br />of the Board. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />
