e,{ 12 41.0 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, APRIL 4, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the <br />County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />April 4, 1988, at 9:30 A. M. Those present were: Commissioners Raymond C. <br />Cox, Jr. , John R. Dossenbach, Jr. , John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. <br />The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />The County Manager advised the Board that the Department of Trans- <br />portation had advertised for a public hearing to be held at this time and date <br />with respect to the Secondary Road Construction Program, and that representatives <br />of the Department were present. On motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted <br />the Board resolved to hold a public hearing with respect to the Secondary Road <br />Construction Program. The Chairman recognized the representatives of the Department <br />of Transportation, and Mr. G. R. Sproles, Jr., District Engineer, presented the <br />Secondary Road Construction Program as developed by the Department of Trans- <br />portation following the priority system that was in effect. Following a review of the <br />program, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the following resolution <br />be adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />anticipates a July 1988 allocation of $175, 293 in secondary construction <br />funds for Lee County for the forthcoming construction season and a <br />public hearing was held on April 4, 1988 in the Commissioners Room <br />in the County Office Building concerning the expenditures of said funds: <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to retain $26, 295 of the total allocation <br />for small projects that may come up during the year such as road <br />
