Pcos 12 t ,-.s= 433 <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that Marvin Joyner, President <br />of Central Carolina Community College be appointed to the JTPA Private Industry <br />Council. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled that the motion lad been unanimously adopted and <br />Dr. Joyner thereby appointed to the Council. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the Board formally accept the <br />donation of 4 trauma cases offered to the County by Debbie Milliken of 3304 <br />Hawkins Avenue for use by the Lee County Emergency Medical Services. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the Resolution had been unanimously adopted <br />and note that the gift was made in memory of Ms. Millikin's father, William B. <br />Martin. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the Chairman <br />be authorized to issue the following Proclamation as designating May as <br />Clean Up Roads and Streets Month in Lee County: <br />WHEREAS, litter continues to be a major problem in our community <br />and there are many roads in Lee County that need to be cleared of <br />trash and debris; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />to conduct a countywide clean-up campaign in conjunction with the <br />City of Sanford, Chamber of Commerce and North Carolina Department <br />of Transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, this clean-up effort cannot be accomplished without the <br />assistance of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County intends to provide trash bags and truck <br />pickup service to those persons who volunteer their time to help <br />alleviate the problem of litter in our community; and <br />
