Mr. Barefoot advised the Board <br />that he had checked the work remaining to be done and believed a bond in <br />the amount of $6, 500 was adequate to insure the completion of the Subdivision <br />which needed only the paving of three short sections of streets in two <br />Subdivision sections. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board reduce the <br />bond to $6, 500 and that a letter of credit of the amount guaranteeing the paving <br />of three short streets in Carolina Trace Subdivision would be acceptable in <br />lieu of the present letter of credit. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />7. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, reported on the <br />Transportation Improvement Program meeting held on April 21, 1988. Mr. <br />Barefoot also reported on the building permit activity in the oast few months <br />and presented the report of the Department of Inspection and Planning for the <br />months of January, February and March, 1988. <br />The County Manager, Mr. Jim Mills, reported on the combined effort <br />of the County and the City of Sanford to extend water and sewer services to an <br />industrial site on Harvey Faulk Road. The County Manager recognized the <br />Grant Director, Mr. Elwin Buchanan, who gave additional details concerning <br />operation and activities relating to the sewer and water line to the This End Up <br />Furniture Company site on Harvey Faulk Road. In essence, the County would <br />pay 1/4th of the cost of the utility lines. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach';-. Jr. moved that the County <br />participate in the extension of water and sewer lines to the This End Up Furniture <br />site on Harvey Faulk Road to the extent of 1/4th of the cost for water and sewer to <br />said site. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />
