L <br />BuoK 12 441 <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager reported on his activities as a result of the <br />report in the Greensboro papers that Lee County had been selected for the <br />hazardous waste site. In this regard, he reported that the Hazardous Waste <br />Commission will be in Sanford on May 25th to meet with the Board and Municipal <br />officials and other parties, and that each Commissioner should receive an <br />invitation to the meeting. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that <br />the Lee County Board of Commissioners go on record as opposing the location <br />of the facility being placed in Lee County on the basis of information available <br />at this time. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews asked that enforcement of the <br />requirement that loads going to the landfill be stepped up since she had noticed <br />considerable debris leading to the landfill. <br />The County Attorney requested approval and ratification of an agreement <br />between Carolina and Northwest Railway Company for a 12" water pipe line <br />crossing near Cumnock located 2044 feet from milepost 280 for the consideration <br />of $50. 00 with no annual rental. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that <br />the execution and delivery of such agreement on May 2, 1988, be approved and <br />ratified. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and the results, <br />upon a vote, were as follows: <br />Ai YE: "Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker mentioned that he had received <br />requests from people who wanted to tap on the new water line being laid from <br />Cumnock to Tramway. The County Manager advised that he was working on an <br />extension policy for presentation to the Board. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjo rneAd sine ie. <br />- Jbhn E.
