The Planning Board recommended <br />that the plat be approved under a development scheme whereby in exchange <br />for common open space in an amount greater than 20% of the total project, the <br />developer is permitted to omit sidewalks on one side of the street and curbs and <br />gutters. After discussion and review, Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />moved that the preliminary plat of the subdivision be approved on the basis <br />outlined by the Planning Board. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />County Manager Jim Mills appeared before the Board and reported <br />that Maxway Corporation had made a donation to the Youth Baseball Program; Harris <br />Wholesale had sponsored a soft ball tournament; and the Park Manager had <br />sponsored a Great Smokies nature trip, and that he had prepared a budget <br />resolution to cover those activities. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr, <br />moved that the Budget from the period from July 1, 1987 through June 30, 1988, <br />be amended as follows: <br />SECTION 1.
