noon 12 „r 439 <br />0 <br />discussion between Mr. Lewis and the Board following which the Chairman <br />announced a short recess. <br />Mr. Leonard Barefoot, County Planner, appeared. before the Board <br />and presented several matters. The first was a petition requesting that State Road <br />1503 known as Buchanan Farm Road, which is located in Deep River Township <br />between Cletus Hall Road and Lee's Chapel Road be paved. Mr. Barefoot reported <br />that the Planning Board had recommended that the petition be approved. Commissioner <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr. , moved the adoption of the following Resolution with respect <br />to the Buchanan Farm Road: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of <br />Lee has investigated the condition of the above described road which <br />is now a part of the system of roads maintained by the State Highway <br />Commission, and which is indicated in red on the attached map; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services rendered by <br />said road and the traffic demands of said County, it is deemed <br />necessary that said road be improved in order to better serve the <br />interests of the people of this County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and the Board of Commissioners <br />hereby approved and request that the State Highway Commission make <br />the following improvements in the above described road: paved <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted. <br />The next item was a petition for an unnamed road off Peach Orchard <br />Road in Greenwood Township. Mr. Barefoot reported that since the road could <br />only be added to the State system if it meets their full specifications, and that <br />investigation had disclosed that the road is not up to State standards, that the <br />Planning Board had recommended that the petition be denied and the County Planner <br />to explain to the petitioners what they need to do for the road to be considered for the <br />State maintained Secondary Road System. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />moved that the Board accept the recommendation of the Planning Board. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />
