cr~< 1.2 442 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA THURSDAY, MAY 26, 1988 A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Thursday, May 26, 1988, pursuant to the call of the Chairman. Those present were: Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr. ; John R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews;, and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Dotterer ruled that a quorum was present and the meeting was open for the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by Dr. Marvin Joyner, President of Central Carolina Community College. The Chairman recognized Dr. Marvin Joyner, who appeared before the Board and presented the 1988-89 Budget request on behalf of Central Carolina Community College. The Chairman also recognized Mr. Elbert Price, Financial Officer for Central Carolina Community College; Mr. Meigs Golden, Trustee; and Mr. Perry White, Trustee, and offered each of them the opportunity to address the Board. Mr. Harry Thomas, a member of the Harnett-Lee Mental Health Board, appeared before the Board and reviewed the substance abuse program at the Mental Health Clinic. He then presented Mr. Mansfield Elmore, Director, who then reviewed the budget request of the Mental Health Authority. Dr. Tom Wilson spoke on the operation of the programs administered at the clinic. Mr. Robert Dalrymple, Chairman, appeared before the Board on behalf of the Board of Education and introduced Mr. William Johnson, Superintendent, who presented the budget request for the school system. Mr. Bobby Powell, Mr. J. Glen Edwards, Mr. Beady Waddell, Mrs. Ellen Tyner and Mrs. Judy Marsh, members of the Board of Education were in attendance.
