Matthews joined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of <br />the Board. <br />Sheriff Billy Bryant was recognized and he spoke on the need for <br />salary adjustments for the personnel in his department. Deputy Estes was <br />again recognized and at this time he presented the budget for the operation of <br />the jail. Sheriff Bryant and Captain Paul Lacy were present and Sheriff Bryant <br />spoke with respect to the need for adjustment to personnel salaries in the jail <br />department. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. was recognized and he made a <br />motion that the Ambulance Department and its Advisory Committee have the name <br />changed to the Emergency Medical Service Department and the Emergency Medical <br />Service Committee. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and <br />ordered that the change in name be implemented. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. presented the budget request on <br />behalf of the Emergency Medical Service. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the fees to be <br />charged for services by the Emergency Medical Service Department be established <br />as follows, effective July 1, 1988: <br />Basic fee $75.00 <br />Esophagus Oral Air $50.00 <br />Disp. Resuscitation $30.00 <br />IV Start-up $15.00 <br />Oxygen $20.00 <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and <br />the fees amended. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the County officials <br />be authorized to destroy the following records in accordance with the <br />provisions of G. S. 121.5 and 132-8.1: <br />County Property and Equipment Inventory Records 1970-1983 30 in. <br />Leave Records -Prior Employees 1976-1983 10 in. <br />Time Records - 1976 -Prior to last audit 100 in. <br />
