e oK 12 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * ***x******************J~ * ***x******* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />MONDAY, JUNE 6, 1988 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Monday, June 6, 1988, at 9:30 o'clock A. M. Those present when <br />the meeting opened were: Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, <br />Jr., John E. Dotterer and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />was absent when the meeting opened but joined the meeting while it was in <br />progress. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer declared a quorum present and the meeting <br />open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Reverend James Estes, a member of the <br />staff of Sheriff Billy Bryant. <br />The drafts of the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 16th, <br />1988, the special meeting held on May 26th, 1988, and the special meeting held <br />on June 2, 1988, were reviewed and considered. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the drafts be adopted as the official minutes for <br />said meetings. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., seconded the motion, and upon <br />a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Wicker and Dotterer; absent Matthews <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled that the resolution had been unanimously adopted <br />and ordered that the minutes be recorded. <br />County Manager Jim Mills appeared before the Board and discussed his <br />recommendation for the appointment of an engineering firm to perform a water <br />survey. No formal action was taken and the County Manager asked that the matter <br />be deferred to a later meeting. <br />Deputy James Estes was recognized to present the budget on behalf of <br />
