, <br />^o 12 F~,u 45 7 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J <br />FRIDAY, JUNE 10, 1988 <br />The adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Friday, June 10, 1988, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. in accordance with <br />the motion of adjournment. Those present when the meeting opened were: <br />Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., Bertha L. Matthews <br />and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner John E. Do.tterer was absent when the <br />meeting opened but joined the meeting while it was still in progress. In the <br />absence of Chairman Dotterer, Vice-Chairman John R. Dossenbach, Jr. declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Vice-Chairman John R. Dossenbach, Jr. presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />Billy Ray Cameron, Emergency Management Director, appeared before the <br />Board and reviewed the budget request for the hazardous material (Haz-Mat) <br />Response Team. <br />Mr. Don Gunderson appeared before the Board and reviewed those <br />programs which were mandated by the State and gave an explanation of the budget <br />request for such services. <br />Mr. Bobby Johnson, Public Works Director, appeared before the Board <br />with respect to the landfill budget request and gave an explanation of the <br />equipment need for that department. <br />Mr. Ronnie Martin appeared before the Board on behalf of the Division <br />of Youth Services and requested authorization to submit a grant application for <br />$10,000 in regard to a youth shelter for Lee County through the Division of <br />Youth Services - Community Based Alternatives. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, <br />Jr. moved that the Board grant authority for the Lee County Youth Services to <br />submit such an application. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews and Wicker <br />NAY: None <br />The Vice-Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted <br />and the application for the grant authorized. <br />County Manager Jim Mills and Finance Officer Beatrice C.
