BOOK U PACE 462-/9. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FCR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />~z e ~ # ~z # e z~ e ~ ~ ~ e ~x c +x z~ ~ a # ~ * ~ a # ~ ~ ~ t ~ x~ m e m <br />MONDAY, JUNE 20, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, <br />on Monday, June 20, 1988, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Those present were: Commissioners <br />Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. <br />Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman, John E. Dotterer, declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted. <br />The invocation was given by Reverend Tom Melvin, pastor of the Lemon <br />Springs United Methodist Church. <br />The drafts of the minutes of the regular and adjourned meetings held on <br />June b, 10th, 15th and 17th, 1988, were reviewed and considered. Commissioner <br />John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that the drafts be adopted as the official minutes <br />for said meetings. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE, Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and <br />ordered that the minutes be recorded. <br />-Chairman John E. Dotterer recognized Reverend Tom Melvin, Pastor of <br />the Lemon Springs United Methodist Church and on behalf of the Board presented <br />him with a plaque in recognition of his service as a member of the Mental Health <br />Area Authority. <br />Mrs. Billie Elmore of the Lee/Chatham Concerned Citizens group appeared <br />before the Board and spoke on the matter of the hazardous waste facility which <br />has been proposed for Lee County. Mrs. Elmore expressed appreciation to the <br />
