6oK V P Gf. 46a-., <br />public hearing closed. <br />Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board and <br />presented a tabulation of unpaid ambulance bills prior to July 1, 1985, and <br />requested that he be relieved of any further responsibility to pursue collection <br />of said accounts, and that they be written off. The list was reviewed and <br />discussed with the Tax Collector following which Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />moved that the request be granted and that the Tax Collector be relieved of any <br />obligation to actively try to collect said accounts and that he be authorized to <br />write off said accounts. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Wicker and Dotterer; absent Matthews <br />NAY:None <br />The Chairman ruled that the resolution had been unamimously adopted. <br />The County Manager, Jim Mills, presented a resolution pertaining to <br />renovations to the old Lee County Hospital building. The matter was discussed <br />following which Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners on the 20th day of Oct.,1986 <br />approved a project ordinance for certain renovations to the old Lee <br />County Hospital Building and appropriated $2,000,000 for this <br />purpose; and <br />WHEREAS, on the 10th day of August, 1987, the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners approved and awarded certain constructional contracts <br />for the proposed renovation to the old Lee County Hospital Building, <br />the sum of said construction contracts and a designated contingency <br />fund equaled the $2,000,000 allocation approved on the 20th <br />day of October, 1986; and <br />WHEREAS, during the process of renovating this building a deter- <br />mination was made that additional work would be required on the <br />building's electrical system; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 16, 1988, approval of a contract with Mace <br />Electrical Co., Sanford, N. C., was given by the Lee County <br />Board of Commissioners for said additional electrical work: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS as follows: <br />SECTION 1. That the budget for the renovation for the old <br />Lee County Hospital be increased to $2,210,000. <br />SECTION 2. That $79,243.53 be transferred from the capital <br />reserve fund designated for architectural work for the Wilrik <br />
