N <br />Poo<' 12 PACE 463 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />u <br />of <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />of <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J <br />Tuesday, July 5, 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the <br />Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office <br />Building, Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Tuesday, July 5, <br />1988, at 9:30 o'clock A. M. , the first Monday being July 4th and <br />observed as holiday. Those present were Commissioners Raymond C. <br />Cox, Jr.; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. <br />Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum <br />present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. <br />The drafts of the minutes of the regular meeting held on <br />Monday, June 20, 1988, and of the special meeting held on Wednesday, <br />June 29, 1988, were reviewed and considered. Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr., moved that the drafts be adopted as the official <br />minutes for said meetings. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer. <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted and ordered that the minutes be recorded. <br />County Manager Jim Mills presented to the Board a copy of <br />the 1987-88 Budget expenditures showing the carryovers and fund <br />balances for each Department. <br />The County Manager and Finance Officer presented for <br />consideration by the Board the 1988-1989 Budget Ordinance. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. introduced and moved the <br />adoption of the following Budget Ordinance: <br />
