ee <br />were as follows: 6ou 12 PAGE 474_8 <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker arid Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />The Board at this time took recognition that Commissioner John R. <br />Dossenbach, Jr. had been elected as President of the North Carolina Association <br />of County Commissioners and wished him well in the administration of his duties <br />and expressed appreciation for the recognition he had brought to Lee County. <br />County Manager Jim Mills reported that there was a vacancy on the Lee <br />County Industrial Facility and Pollution Control Financing Authority for the <br />unexpired term of Mr. Gerald Hunter and also the terms of Mr. Ben Bullock, Mrs. <br />Emily Eason and Mr. W. M. Holt, Jr. had expired and these vacancies needed to <br />be filled. The Board discussed the vacancies and the names of A. C. Burkhead, Joe <br />Lawrence, Winston Hester and Ms. Deborah Brown were suggested. The Board <br />decided to fill these vacancies at a later meeting. <br />County Manager Jim Mills reported on the status of the Cumnock/Tramway <br />water line and presented for the Board's information a travel request form he had <br />instituted for employees' use and reviewed procedures pertaining to telephone calls. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. moved that the following order of collection <br />be directed to the County Tax Collector: <br />To The Tax Collector of the County of Lee: <br />You are hereby authorized, empowered, and commanded to collect the <br />taxes set forth in the tax records filed in the office of the Tax Assessor <br />and in the tax receipts herewith delivered to you, in the amounts and <br />from the taxpayers likewise therein set forth. Such taxes are hereby <br />declared to be a first lien upon all real property of the respective tax- <br />payers in the County of Lee, and this order shall be a full and sufficient <br />authority to direct, require, and enable you to levy on and sell any real <br />or personal property of such taxpayers, for on account thereof, in <br />accordance with law. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. seconded the motion, and upon a vote the <br />results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />
