&OK 12 ?AGE 471-19 <br />M <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, JULY 25, 1988 <br />✓ x, T T , <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, <br />State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />July 25, 1988, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. as specified in the call of the meeting issued by <br />the Chairman. Those present were: Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr. ; John <br />R. Dossenbach, Jr. ; John E. Dotterer; Bertha L. Matthews; and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of <br />business. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Mr. Beady Waddell, a member of the Lee County <br />Board of Education. <br />Mr. William R. Johnson, Lee County School Sunerintendent, appeared <br />before the Board and spoke of the need to explore nossible avenues for financing <br />imnrovements at the Greenwood Elementary School. Following Mr. Johnson's presen- <br />tation, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has previously taken action <br />to provide the Board of Education with $500, 000 in each of the next four fiscal <br />years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Education has approximately $1, 000, 000 in un- <br />expended bond oroceeds;and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Education anticipates allocations from the <br />public school building capital funds as follows: $570, 792 in FY 87-88; <br />$413, 274 in FY 88-89; $320, 933 in FY 89-90; $354, 730 in FY 90-91; and <br />$390, 946, in FY 91-92; and <br />WHEREAS, these same sources give the Board of Education estimated <br />total funding commitments as follows: <br />
