e on 12 pt, E 472 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, AUGUST It 1988 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' room on the <br />second floor of the County Office Building, 200 wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Monday, August 1, 1988, at 9:30 o'clock A. M. Those present <br />were: Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr.; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; Bertha L. <br />Matthews, and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner John E. Dotterer was absent. <br />Vice-Chairman John R. Dossenbach, Jr. declared a quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Vice-Chairman John R. Dossenbach, Jr. presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Attorney K. R. Hoyle. <br />The drafts of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, <br />July 18, 1988, and the special meeting on Monday, July 25, 1988, were reviewed <br />and considered. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the drafts be <br />adopted as the official minutes for said meetings. Commissioner Bertha L. <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Matthews, Wicker & Dossenbach <br />NAY: None <br />The Vice-Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted <br />and ordered the minutes be recorded <br />Mr. John Hall, County Agricultural Extension Chairman, appeared <br />before the Board and presented Ms. Pauli Hogan, who has been employed as an <br />Assistant Home Economist with the Agricultural Extension Department. <br />Superintendent William R. Johnson of the Lee County Board of <br />Education appeared before the Board and discussed the proposed financing <br />arrangement for Greenwood School. Commissioner Wicker asked for an <br />explanation of the cost and the Superintendent stated the school had one <br />million dollars available at the present time from bond proceeds and State <br />allocation, and would need four million dollars to complete the project. <br />
