Mr. Fred wicker was recognized and spoke and <br />asked tnat the Board continue its efforts with community development projects <br />and would like to see some mowing done in these projects. After all persons <br />desiring to speak had been recognized, Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved <br />that the public hearing be closed. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and <br />the public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved the adoption of the following <br />Resolution with respect to the County's leasing of two refuse trucks: <br />WHEREAS, Lee County, through its duly appointed County Manager, with <br />the consent and approval of the Board of Commissioners, has entered into a <br />contract with Southern National Leasing Corporation for the purchase of two <br />refuse trucks; and <br />VAS, the said contract, bearing the date September 8, 1988, <br />qualifies as a tax-exempt obligation of the County pursuant to the Internal <br />Revenue Code of 1986 ; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners: <br />That the aforesaid contract, bearing the date September 8, 1988, by and between <br />Lee County and Southern National Leasing Corporation, together with the amounts <br />to be paid thereunder, be and the same are hereby designated as a qualified <br />tax-exempt obligation of the County for purposes of Section 265(b) (3) of the <br />Internal Revenue Code of 1986. <br />Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr. seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer <br />NAY: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews reported on the Committee cocncerning <br />the County Boards and Agencies and reported that the Committee desired to make <br />more study and believed it was best to limit the Board memberships to a total <br />of seven. <br />
