, BOOK V nu 534 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA `I MONDAY, OCTOBER 17, 1988 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, October 17, 1988, at 7:00 o'clock P. M. Those present were: Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr., John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by County Manager Jim Mills. The draft of the minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, October 3, 1988, were considered. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews moved that the draft be adopted as the official minutes for that meeting. Commissioner Raymond C. Cox, Jr., seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews, Wicker and Dotterer NAY: None The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously adopted and ordered the minutes recorded. Dr. William B. Adams, Chairman of the Lee County Board of Health, appeared before the Board pertaining to the matter as to what previous service credit would be allowed Health Department employees. The Health Department employees have been given credit for prior service with the District Health Department of which Lee County was a part , but the employees are requesting that prior public service covered by the State Personnel System be considered with respect to leave time. The matter was discussed at length and the final action was deferred pending a review of the vacation time and sick leave and what effect allowing such service to count would have on other County employees.
