0 0 <br />nox 12 ?tu 539 <br />J <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1988 <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at the old nurses home <br />on Sunset Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, Thursday, October 27, 1988, at <br />4:00 o'clock P. M., the same being the time and place in the call issued <br />by the Chairman. Those present were: Commissioners Raymond C. Cox, Jr., <br />John R. Dossenbach, Jr., John E. Dotterer, Bertha L. Matthews and Gordon <br />A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open <br />for the transaction of business. <br />The Board conducted a tour of the building, both inside and <br />outside and Derrell Mullins , Architect, and Mr. Brewer, Maintenance <br />Supervisor were present. <br />The Board discussed with County Manager Mills the information <br />he obtained on his recent visit to the State Division of Facility <br />Services and also discussed with K. R. Hoyle, County Attorney, the public <br />bidding process. The Board considered the estimates for the renovation <br />of the old nurses home. Commissioner John R. Dossenbach, Jr. moved that <br />the Chairman name a committee to confer with and explore the possibility <br />of having the Home Builders Association to assist in preparation of plans <br />for the renovation of the nurses home. Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote the results were as follows: <br />AYE: Cox, Dossenbach, Matthews and Dotterer <br />NAY: Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been adopted by a <br />majority vote. <br />John E.
