SLOAN
Pool Rentals partial refunds were made to 7 groups in the amount of $642.50 with 850
visitors affected.
Pool Rentals cancelled on 4 occasions with lost revenue of 5886.00 and 210 visitors
affected.
Two Learn -to -Swim classes are conducted in the shallow end of the dive tank each hour
of sessions which would amount to a total of 48 classes with a conservative estimate of 5
students per class. This would affect 240 students over the course of the summer season.
Leam -to -Swim classes are $25 /session which would result in a loss of $6000.
The Learn-to -Swim program has averaged adding 96 students per season since 2008.
With our current usage, there would not be room to grow and accommodate these
students in the swim tank. In addition, Level 3 and Level 4 classes would lose all
progressive dive training (sitting, kneeling, compact, and stride positions) which is
considered part of the American Red Cross Learn -to -Swim curriculum which requires a
minimum depth of 9 feet. If, we could continue average growth, lost revenue would be
52400.
Emergency responders conduct deep water rescue training each season in the dive tank.
This training is coordinated through CCCC Emergency Training Center.
Our pool staff is trained and certified in the dive tank. Certification requires a 9 -foot pool
depth. If the dive tank were not available, our staff would have to go to another facility
adding to costs for trained and certified personnel.
Until the 2011 season, YMCA utilized the pool for various summer camps and programs.
Due to lack of space and access to certain areas of the pool because of swim lessons and
aqua aerobics, YMCA chose to use another facility. YMCA revenue in 2008 was $3832,
2009 was $2035, and 2010 was $1923.
