V �'2 <br />O.T. Sloan Pool Report 11/3/11 <br />Pool Use Timeline, Effects of Loss of Use of Dive Tank, Supporting Data of User <br />Groups and Revenues, Fees & Charges Study RRS, Budgeted Expenditures & Utilities <br />Costs, Pool Schedule by User Group, Pool Plan, CDC Bulletin with Drowning Facts. <br />Pool Use Timeline <br />General Services prepares the pool for inspection by Lee County Health Department with <br />a target inspection date of May 15` each season. <br />Training and certification of pool staff is conducted upon pool passing inspection. This <br />occurs from middle to end of May and requires a 9 -foot pool depth. <br />School parties are held week days from the last half of May through the first week of <br />June. <br />Pool opens for Public Swim Memorial Day weekend and is open on weekends only until <br />the weekend following the end of school year. The pool is then open Tuesday through <br />Sunday from 1:00 -5:00 p.m. until mid - August. Pool hours for Public Swim go to <br />weekends only the last two weeks of August. <br />Five sessions of Learn -to -Swim Lessons are offered during the pool season. Session I <br />begins the first Monday in June with evening classes at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 p.m. <br />Sessions 2 through 4 have morning classes at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 a.m. in addition to <br />the evening classes. Session 5 is evening classes only that finish in mid - August. Each <br />session lasts 2 weeks, Monday through Thursday with Friday as a make -up day. <br />Participation in the Learn -to -Swim program has increased every year from 2007 when <br />469 students were taught to 2011 when 856 students were taught. <br />Three swim teams use the pool for training beginning after school is out in June and <br />continuing throughout most of July. Swim team hours are 6:00 -10:00 a.m. Monday - <br />Friday. One of the swim teams also incorporates diving training. <br />Tramway Elementary has for many years conducted water safety instruction during the <br />first 2 weeks of August for almost 700 students. This instruction includes boating safety, <br />swimming, and some diving. Preliminary plans are being discussed to add water safety <br />instruction for another elementary school the last 2 weeks in May of next season. <br />Dayeares and Boys & Girls Club are accommodated during regular Public Swim time at <br />reduced group rate fees. <br />Rentals are available for Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., <br />and Sundays from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br />
